New Zealand Federation of Piling Specialists Membership

The NZFPS encourage an open and transparent environment where members share information for the greater good of the industry. The Federation takes pride in being dynamic in its response and taking the best on offer from related associations around the world to better the New Zealand Piling and Foundations industry.

We provide a network for problem solving and advice. The membership assessment is a starting point for getting companies to assess their current Health and Safety standard and provide targets to aspire to.

NZFPS actively encourage application for membership from anyone who is interested in the objectives NZFPS aspire to promote.

  • On first applying for membership, applicants who meet the minimum standards are classified as Aspiring Members. This status lasts until either, the applicant has undergone the auditing process and achieved an initial pass mark of greater than 40%, or after maximum period of two years, at the end of which they must undergo the full membership audit.

During the period of an applicant’s Aspiring membership status, the NZFPS will actively coach them and assist with establishing the minimum standards required to pass the full membership audit. Aspiring members will have full access and voting rights of full membership but will however not be able to hold positions within the leadership committee or sub-committees.

  • Having demonstrated a company structure and practices that actively promote the objectives of the Federation by achieving a score initially greater than 40% in the membership audit, successful applicants are classified as full members. Full members will be required to undergo follow up membership audits every three years, in which they must demonstrate continued improvement. To foster this, the passing score is raised by 5% from their previous passing grade.

We encourage full members to actively get involved with the leadership and development of the Federation to ensure that it continues to address their needs. Our value comes through our members being active in the decision making of our committees.

  • The foundation industry is influenced by many different entities, not just by the contractors undertaking the installation. The federation welcomes all and any membership applications of those wishing to associate with us and our membership. Those interested parties who do not actively engage in foundation techniques but are influenced by the industry are encouraged to apply for our associate membership.

Associate membership guarantees access to our events, committee meetings and resources but like aspiring members, associate members are unable to vote on any decisions being made in our committees.
